Cancer Survivors
Sisters of Courage: Survivors of Breast & Cervical Cancer
This project was funded through the Department of Health's Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, itself the product of a 1997 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention grant.
These women and many more have triumphed over breast or cervical cancer. These photos capture, not the pain of these women, but the celebration of their lives. The 26 portraits and essays are a traveling exhibit owned by the State of Florida. Please call (850) 488-2901 if you are interested in displaying the photographs.
The book Sister of Courage is available from The Photo-Documentary Press, inc. for $20 + $4 shipping and handling.
The net proceeds are being donated to provide mammograms and Pap tests for uninsured women.
